Baltimore Orioles — as of April 9, 2017

Up:

No one.

Down:

Seth Smith, OF, and Hyon Soo Kim, OF, are down slightly in value as they’ve only started 3 of the Orioles’ first 5 games, as Craig Gentry and Trey Mancini get the odd start, as well as Joey Rickard (before he was injured on April 9) and Mark Trumbo (when Mancini was at DH).

In:

Wade Miley, SP: Apr 9 – 8:53 AM (Rotoworld) — Orioles activated LHP Wade Miley from the 10-day disabled list.
Miley will make his season debut on Sunday against the Yankees after recovering from an upper respiratory infection. The left-hander threw 87 pitches in a simulated game Tuesday, so he’s built up enough to handle a full workload. However, there are more appealing streaming options.
April 2, 2017 (Rotoworld) — Baltimore Orioles placed LHP Wade Miley on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to March 30, 2017. Upper respiratory infection.

Out:

Anthony Santander, OF: Mar 30 – 4:59 PM (Rotoworld) — Orioles placed OF Anthony Santander on the 10-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.
Elbow inflammation has sidelined Santander for the past couple of weeks. Placing him on the DL buys the Orioles more time to figure out what to do with him. The 22-year-old is an exciting talent but spent all of last year at High-A and probably isn’t ready for the major leagues.
Apr 9 – 9:00 AM (Rotoworld) — Anthony Santander (forearm) is swinging a bat with no restrictions.
It’s good to hear, although what the next step is for the Rule 5 pick isn’t clear. Santander missed much of spring training after recovering from shoulder surgery and then suffering a strained forearm.

Chris Tillman, SP: Apr 2 – 1:16 PM (Rotoworld) — Orioles placed RHP Chris Tillman on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
Tillman never got on track this spring due to a nagging shoulder issue. He’s throwing from the mound and hopes to join the Orioles’ rotation in early May.
Apr 5 – 4:40 PM (Rotoworld) — Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that Chris Tillman (shoulder) will not be ready to return until May at the earliest.
No huge surprise there, as Tillman was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on Sunday. That injury plagued him throughout spring training. Showalter has indicated that when the time comes, Tillman will likely need to make four minor league starts to get back into the groove before he joins the big league club.
Apr 7 – 6:04 PM (Rotoworld) — Chris Tillman (shoulder) will make a start in extended spring training on Tuesday.
He’s slated to throw two innings and/or 30 pitches and should be cleared for a rehab assignment next if all goes well. Tillman obviously still has a ways to go to be built up and isn’t expected to rejoin the Orioles’ rotation until sometime next month. The right-hander has been battling shoulder issues since the off-season.

Joey Rickard, OF: Apr 9 – 11:40 AM (Rotoworld) — Orioles placed OF Joey Rickard on the 10-day  disabled list with a sprained left middle finger.
Rickard jammed the finger into the second base bag on a stolen base attempt on Saturday, April 7. The Orioles are hoping that he won’t be sidelined long.
